Thank you for visiting the Indiana Kids Election (IKE) Web site!

Did you know ...

Under Indiana law, schools must give instruction on the election process two weeks prior to a general election. IKE helps Indiana schools meet this requirement by providing free resource guides to participating schools. These resource guides include grade-specific lessons and materials for a classroom or school election, and allow students of any grade level to experience voting milestones from registering to vote to casting a ballot on Election Day. As the first statewide classroom Election Day program in the United States for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, IKE teaches the habit of voting at an early age so that students will understand the importance of this constitutional right before they reach voting age.
